As we near closer to the Commercial Dance Convention here are a few things to prepare for the week:
What to Bring:
-A notebook, several classes are more lecture based or a blend of movement and lecture. You will want to have a notebook to write what you learn in class to reference through out the week or even later on.
-Multiple pens and pencils, the last thing you want to to be ready to take notes and suddenly your pen or pencil wont write.
– Plenty of water and snacks. You’ll want to stay hydrated and possibly grab a quick snack between classes as you’ll have a small break to change and reset between classes.
-Lunch is an hour each day, make sure to plan your lunch ahead of time so you have plenty of time to digest, rest and recover.
Hello Dancers! Below you’ll find your materials for Jessica and Arielle’s audition classes to give you some prep time prior to your mock auditions. Additionally the schedule is also included for your reference.
Remember these mock auditions are structured with the goal to teach a dancer how to audition for their career and not just the job!
Arielle’s Mock Music Video Audition Information:
Casting Breakdown:
(For both Age groups)
We are looking for 2-4 dancers in each age group for a (Mock) Music Video for an undisclosed Artist sponsored by Gap. We have a quick turn around on this one. Auditions will be held Tuesday July 14th & Wednesday July 15th. Callbacks will be held immediately during the audition.
What to Bring:
-Headshot and Resume stapled together ( if you don’t have a professional headshot bring what you have, if you don’t have a resume thats ok too, bring a fake one get creative remember this should be fun!)
– Bring a your notebook and several writing options just in case ( you’ll need this for several classes through out the week)
What to Wear:
– Gap commercial inspired style please reference recent commercials as this will be styled completely in Gap clothing. ( please don’t buy anything new, just wear what you have)
What to Expect:
– Hand in your resume to Arielle
– Then learn a short combo paired with improv
-Dancers will learn what a slate is and how to do it
-You’ll then be split up in to groups to slate & perform
– At this point we will do some cuts and mock call backs
-Arielle will announce the “cast”
-Finally everything will be explained and broken down so dancers know how they can grow and nail any audition!

Jessica’s Self Tapes & Virtual Casting Information:
These castings are for a (Mock) Live TV Production of these Musicals followed by a (Mock) Broadway run.
Make sure you know the combo prior to the audition as we will not have time to review it. You’ll find a link to each combo below.

Seeking:
Equity and non equity dancers/actors who can play ages ranging 6-14 years
old. The ensemble portrays multiple characters and bugs, assists with storytelling, and
may possibly understudy principal roles. Singing, tumbling and puppetry experience a
plus but not required.
Wardrobe:
Arrive dressed to dance in the style of the show with choreography prepared.
Bring jazz shoes and sneakers.
Auditions will be filmed as the choreographer will not be there in person.

NYC. Tumbling a plus.
